So this is the first year I really wanted to try to do the INKTOBER challenge. Basically it was started by an artist who knew he should be drawing everyday, to practice. Then it blew up from there. He put out a list of ideas to help artists get ideas of what to draw and the rest is up to you. So naturally I'm a day late but I'm really motivated this year to participate. So here are my first and second day drawings. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to send encouraging comments. I need all the motivation I can get.
It has been too long since my last post. Summers will do that to you. Here is a small sketch of some hand-lettering. Had a lot of fun but need to practice more.
Hope everyone got to see a glimpse of the eclipse. The clouds were perfect cover to get a photo without destroying my phone! Woot! An amazing, rare site.
Here is number 6 drawing a day - my lovely pooch. He sleeps with his tongue out, what a cutie. Maybe next month I will do better. What will be next months subject??? Stay tuned folks!
Just a little doodle of what a dog fairy would look like. Not bad if I say so myself. She is a little dachshund fairy named Bella. Enjoy!

Hey look, day 2 of my drawing a day. Here is a beautiful wrinkly wonder! Just a quick drawing. I definitely need to practice my life drawing. I've gotten very lazy. I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend!
So I will be attempting to do a drawing a day of a certain subject and January is Dogs! I know what you're saying, "Hey Erin, it's Jan. 5th. You're a little late." And to that I say... "Yup, better late than never, right?!" Here is a little doodle of a corgi that I took into Adobe Illustrator. I think he came out just too perfect. lol Enjoy and we'll see how long I can keep this up!
I love drawing animals. Just a fun collection of animal characters. Hope you enjoy!
What to do. Always end up at this giant cement cube of horror. I have a ton of projects but they all seem... uninteresting. Lets hope this week will produce results!
A few sketches smashed together. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Funny where things can start. One smudge and the whole image changes.
A new idea I've been playing around with.
I love how he came out. so cute! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Not much to say... just playing with color and different media.
Playing with an idea that I'd like to expand upon.
I love placing paint in a random layout and then sketching on top of it. Seeing where my mind goes and what I can come up with is fun. I saw the mountain right away with this one. Hope you have a great day!
A fun sketch I did with my super awesome partner in art crime. We each took turns adding on to this drawing. Lots of detail. Hope you have a wonderful day!
A page from the deep recesses of my brain. Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day.
We went to the Sequoia National Forest and to see the gigantic trees was very humbling. We humans can build huge structures, fly to space, transform cells to do what we want them to do. But we ourselves will never be that huge, that important, that connected. General Sherman was 275 feet tall, 102 feet circumference, and 52,513 cu ft. He was breathtaking. I thought for a while and it was the idea that made me feel as big as that creature. I think that is the only way we can feel as immense. Here was a quick sketch of that beautiful tree - that beautiful idea.
Armadillo meeting. I dedicate this to my leader.
Have a wonderful weekend!
